Madhya Pradesh, India — In a landmark diplomatic engagement, an ASEAN delegation led by H.E. Mr. Karlito Nunes undertook the first-ever joint state visit by all ASEAN Heads of Mission to Madhya Pradesh. The three-day visit, held from 18–20 November 2025, highlighted the state’s growing role as a strategic partner in trade, culture, and investment within India’s engagement with Southeast Asia.
On the final day of the mission, the ASEAN envoys held a high-level meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav. Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, enhancing tourism exchanges, and identifying new avenues for investment in sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, and education. The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to deepening ties with ASEAN nations and showcased Madhya Pradesh’s emerging opportunities for global partners.
Throughout the visit, the delegation explored key cultural and historical sites in what is often described as the “heart of Incredible India,” gaining firsthand insight into the region’s heritage and development potential. A dedicated trade and investment seminar was also organized, providing ASEAN diplomats an overview of Madhya Pradesh’s business ecosystem and facilitating conversations with industry leaders and government officials.
The visit marks a significant step in strengthening subnational diplomacy between India and the ASEAN region, opening new channels for collaboration and elevating Madhya Pradesh’s profile on the international stage.
