The Embassy of India, in partnership with 3one4 Capital, organized a seminar on the India–Japan Innovation Dialogue highlighting India’s accelerating growth trajectory and expanding start-up ecosystem.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Nagma M. Mallick outlined the vibrancy of India’s start-up landscape and the strong investor interest it continues to attract domestically and globally. She emphasized that, like Japan, India places a high value on innovation as a driver of economic progress.
A panel discussion titled “Advancing Strategic Technology Partnerships” featured Kinji Saito of Next Bharat–Suzuki, Shosuke Kiba of UMI, and Katsumi Onishi of Mizuho Bank, moderated by T.V. Mohandas Pai, Chairman of 3one4 Capital. The panel explored how Japan’s strengths in manufacturing precision and India’s digital innovation capabilities can jointly advance mobility solutions, clean energy, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence.

Delivering the keynote address, Mohandas Pai spoke on “India—Start-up Nation,” highlighting the strength of India’s start-up ecosystem—now comprising more than 200,000 companies and 123 unicorns. He underscored that this innovation engine is poised to play a central role in propelling India toward a $10-trillion economy.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Pranav Pai, Managing Partner at 3one4 Capital.
