India, Oman Hold 14th Strategic Consultative Group Meeting; Review Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments

The 14th meeting of the India–Oman Strategic Consultative Group (SCG) was held with the co-chairmanship of Secretary (CPV & OIA) Shri Arun K. Chatterjee and Oman’s Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy. The high-level talks underscored the continued strength of the longstanding India–Oman strategic partnership and reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across key sectors.

During the meeting, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of their multifaceted bilateral ties, covering political relations, defence and security cooperation, trade and investment links, energy partnership, and people-to-people exchanges. They also emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in emerging areas, including maritime security, technology, food security, and connectivity.

In addition to bilateral discussions, both delegations exchanged views on significant regional and global developments. They highlighted the need for close coordination on issues of mutual concern and reiterated their shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The SCG meeting reflected the steady momentum in India–Oman relations and laid the groundwork for further strengthening strategic cooperation in the years ahead.
