Indo-German Partnership Sets New Priorities for 2026

India and Germany marked 25 years of a growing strategic partnership by reviewing key achievements from 2025 and outlining priorities for 2026. With bilateral trade in goods and services surpassing 50 billion dollars, the two nations continue to deepen economic cooperation, combining Germany’s technological strength with India’s expanding market.

At a review session in New Delhi, Alexandre Callegaro, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Global Affairs at the German Embassy, met with representatives from the Indian government, industry associations, and ministries to assess progress and chart future goals.

Gurneet Tej, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, emphasized the long-term commitment of German companies in India, noting their focus on sustainable investments that deliver lasting value. Discussions also highlighted the growing role of educational and cultural exchanges, with both countries reinforcing institutional partnerships and encouraging cross-border research.

Participants underscored that the Indo-German partnership is poised to continue driving innovation, collaboration, and economic growth for both nations.
