French Minister for Transport Philippe Tabarot met India’s Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw to review the status of bilateral cooperation in the high-speed rail sector. The meeting focused on assessing ongoing collaboration and exploring ways to further strengthen technical, industrial, and institutional partnerships between the two countries.

Discussions highlighted the growing depth of India–France cooperation in modern rail infrastructure, particularly in areas such as high-speed rail technology, sustainable transport solutions, and capacity building. Officials also underscored the role of institutions including the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, Ministère de la Transition écologique et de la Cohésion des territoires, and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in facilitating long-term collaboration.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and France to advancing safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable rail transport, aligned with India’s broader vision of modernising its railway network through international partnerships.
