Russia-India Strategic Partnership Key to Multipolar World: Ambassador Denis Alipov

New Delhi, February 4:
Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov on Tuesday underscored the growing importance of the Russia-India “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership” amid global geopolitical instability and the gradual emergence of a multipolar world order.

Addressing a conference titled “India and Russia in a Changing Global Order: Strategic Autonomy, Security and Partnership in the 21st Century,” jointly organized by the Valdai Discussion Club and the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF), Ambassador Alipov stressed that bilateral ties between Moscow and New Delhi are firmly rooted in mutual respect for international law and the central role of the United Nations.

He highlighted the significance of expanding practical cooperation between the two countries within key multilateral frameworks such as BRICS and the Russia-India-China (RIC) dialogue, noting that such platforms play a crucial role in promoting sustainable growth, global stability, and strategic balance.

The conference also featured keynote addresses by Prof. Andrey Bystritskiy, Chairman of the Board of the Valdai Discussion Club Foundation; Prof. Fyodor Lukyanov, Research Director of the Foundation; and Dr. Arvind Gupta, Director of the Vivekananda International Foundation, along with several other leading scholars and strategic experts.

Discussions during the event focused on the ongoing transformation of the global order, challenges to strategic autonomy, and future prospects for deepening Russia-India relations in an increasingly complex international environment.
