Tensions escalate in southern Lebanon: 22 attacks by Hezbollah, intense clashes in Bint Jbeil.

The situation in southern Lebanon suddenly became serious on Thursday when the Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) carried out a total of 22 military operations in a single day. These operations included rocket attacks, drone strikes, and direct ground confrontations, further intensifying tensions across the region.

Hezbollah stated in its statements that all these actions were carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people” and in response to the “enemy’s repeated violations of the ceasefire.” The organization also clarified that it supports maintaining calm, but under the current circumstances, responding had become necessary.

Settlements shaken by rocket attacks

Most of the day’s attacks were focused on settlements in northern occupied Palestine. Kiryat Shmona was targeted seven times, while Manara was hit by rockets twice. In addition, settlements such as Avivim, Shlomi, Shomera, and Metula also came under attack. A rocket strike was also carried out on the Al-Azal Hill area, located north of Kfar Yuval. In the afternoon, rockets were also fired at the Al-Assi position facing Mays al-Jabal, marking one of the final major operations of the day.

Precision strikes using drones

In some specific operations, Hezbollah used drones to target a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Misgav Am. In Taybeh, a D9-type military bulldozer was also struck by a drone. Earlier, a direct attack was confirmed on Israeli forces inside a house in the same area.

Face-to-face fighting in Bint Jbeil

The most intense clashes were seen in the city of Bint Jbeil, where Hezbollah claimed to have thwarted an attempt by Israeli mechanized forces to advance. According to the organization, light and medium weapons, as well as rocket-propelled weapons, were used during the fighting.

At the same time, rocket and artillery attacks were carried out on gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles around the Musa Abbas Complex, Tahrir Triangle, and the commercial area. According to reports, clashes were ongoing in these areas.

Hezbollah’s statement

Hezbollah stated that all these actions are retaliatory and will continue until “Israeli and American aggression against Lebanon and its people comes to an end.”

Overall, the situation in southern Lebanon remains extremely tense, and the ongoing military activities are making it increasingly serious.
