St. Petersburg: The Bank of Russia hosted its annual Financial Congress from July 1 to 3 in St. Petersburg, bringing together policymakers, central bankers, and financial experts to discuss the future of the global financial system.

During the three-day event, delegates participated in 24 sessions covering a wide range of topics, including financial market development, economic resilience, modern financial technologies, payment infrastructure, and key challenges facing the Russian economy.
A major highlight of the congress was the participation of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra as a special guest. He joined Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina for a joint session that focused on India’s rapid economic growth and the country’s resilience amid continuing global economic uncertainty.

The discussion emphasized India’s strong economic momentum, evolving financial ecosystem, and the importance of international cooperation in addressing global financial challenges.
