Tensions continue to rise in the occupied West Bank as Israeli occupation authorities have extended the closure of three major Palestinian refugee camps in the northern West Bank until the end of September. The new military orders apply to the Jenin, Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, where residents are barred from entering, staying or leaving without special permits issued by the Israeli military.
According to local sources, the orders were issued just two days before the previous restrictions were due to expire, effectively extending the ongoing military operations and movement restrictions imposed on Palestinians living in the camps.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces continued raids and arrest campaigns in Jenin Governorate. In the town of Qabatiya, soldiers searched homes and businesses and arrested several young Palestinian men, taking them to unknown locations.
The report said large-scale demolition and bulldozing operations have been carried out in the Jenin and Tulkarem refugee camps since the beginning of the year, displacing thousands of Palestinian families and preventing residents from returning to assess or repair damage to their properties.
According to the report, more than 1,182 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 24,000 arrested in the occupied West Bank since October 2023.
