Now it is the pager

A series of explosions have rocked Beirut and other places in Lebanon. Thousands of people are seriously injured. Two children and one woman have been killed. Hospitals are filled with the injured. Ordinary folks are rushing to donate blood. The entire country is in a state of shock.

In another round of explosions, around 14 people were killed and 150 injured. Surprisingly, they were using walkie-talkies that exploded.

The Hezbollah has accused Israel. Once again, the diabolical shadow of Israel looms large behind this murderous attempt. Once again, the West, especially the American establishment led by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, are watching in rapt silence. Once again, Israel has chosen to murder ordinary people.

The target was clearly Hezbollah guerillas and its top leadership. They have yet again promised to retaliate. And, yet again, there is no doubt, they will not be able to do anything.

Israel will continue to embark on the path it knows best — mass murder of ordinary citizens, as it has been doing remorselessly, and relentlessly, in Gaza.

So why were the Hezbollah guerillas using pagers?

Since the genocide started in Gaza, they had stopped using mobiles, knowing fully well that Israeli intelligence networks would inevitably penetrate their communication system. In any case, Israel has perhaps the finest surveillance system, as was witnessed in India, where it, along with the Indian government, was accused by some individuals of master-minding the Pegasus affair in certain mobiles, including that of journalists.

Thereby, the Hezbollah had ordered pagers for their underground and overground members. It is in these pagers that Israel reportedly penetrated and a certain amount of explosives were inserted into them. A Taiwanese company has apparently issued a statement stating that the pagers were made and sold by a Hungry-based company.

Recently, a top Hezbollah commander was killed in Lebanon. Another high-ranking Hamas leader was killed in Tehran, after the inauguration ceremony of the new president. He was killed in a high security area.

Iran had then declared revenge. Nothing happened. Clearly, the new Iranian leadership wants to return in the good books of the White House. Earlier, Barack Obama had removed the sanctions imposed on the country. Donald Trump imposed it back.

Now, Iran seems to desperately want that the sanctions should be removed, since its economy is in a bad state. The Iranian ambassador has also been injured in the pager attacks.

Backed by weapons worth billions supplied by America, Benjamin Netanyahu wants nothing less than an all-out war. He, especially, wants to target Iran.

It has now become transparent that he wants no political solution to the the crisis in Gaza. Indeed, his forces are now spilling more blood in West Bank, which has no presence of the Hamas, and which is practically under the control of Tel Aviv.

It is also clear that Netanyahu will continue to delay any ceasefire talks or negotiations to get the Israeli hostages released. Isolated in the world, and opposed by a large section of his own people, he will continue to dilly-dally, totally indifferent to the suffering of the hostages and their loved ones.

Big protests have happened in Israel seeking an end to the bloodshed, the resumption of ceasefire  talks and the release of hostages. Bibi remains unmoved.

With extreme Right-Wing, fanatic hardliners in his cabinet, the two-state solution, perceived since long to resolved the Palestine crisis, will be impossible to achieve. While America and the West continue to do lip-service with no commitment whatsoever to find a solution to this simmering wound, Israel will continue to rule the roost. It cares two hoots for international opinion, the United Nations, or the International Court of Justice.

  1. Thank you for shedding light on the tragic explosions in Lebanon and providing a detailed analysis of the geopolitical intricacies involved. The article highlights not only the immediate horror of the incident but also delves into the broader regional context, making the situation more understandable for readers.

Your ability to weave together the involvement of different nations, their motivations, and historical events enriches the narrative. The use of walkie-talkies and pagers as part of Hezbollah’s strategy was a surprising and significant detail, adding depth to the story. I appreciate the critical lens through which you examine international responses, particularly Israel’s actions and the silence of Western powers.

One suggestion for improvement might be to explore the humanitarian aspect more deeply—perhaps by incorporating firsthand accounts from those affected. This could add an emotional layer and draw readers closer to the on-ground reality.
