Daughter of an autorickshaw driver, her appeal to the young: Stay away from social media and distractions
Ayesha Ansari, the daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh, has achieved remarkable success by securing the 12th rank in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination. This accomplishment will earn her the position of Deputy Collector in the days to come.
Till recently, whenever the 45-year-old Muslim Ansari drove his autorickshaw through the Officers’ Colony of the city, he was overawed by the luxurious bungalows. His dream?
It seemed well-nigh impossible at that time.
That one day he too would live in one of these houses with his family.
His dream will now come true as his daughter is on the verge of becoming a Deputy Collector in the near future. Thereby, she will be entitled to similar official accommodation in the Officers’ Colony.
Ayesha was born in a humble Muslim family. Her father, Muslim Ansari, put in all his efforts to make his daughter’s dream come true. She gives all the credit to her parents for her success.

She says that her father used to walk every morning through the Police Line Colony and read the nameplates of officers living in the bungalows. Indeed, her father wanted nothing but a big, bright future for his talented and diligent daughter. His dream has now come true.
Ansari often told his daughter, “I wish someone in our family had a big bungalow in her name.”
Wanting to make her father proud, Ayesha focused on her education and decided to make his dream come true. She believes success comes only with dedication and hard work.
She never joined any coaching class. For the competitive exam’s preparations, she used her simple mobile phone to access study material and did self-study at home.
Her father said he worked hard to provide for his family and ensure that Ayesha got everything she needed for her examinations and education. He says, “I had no idea about the civil services, but always thought that my daughter will get a good position.” He continued to drive the auto rickshaw even when he was ill, so that her studies were not affected.

Ayesha’s success has sent a wave of joy in her family and neighbourhood. There is a beeline of people outside their house with everyone wanting to meet and congratulate ‘the little girl’ who is now poised to become a big, successful officer.
Ayesha believes that the young should leave no stone unturned in their hard work and keep trying to achieve their goals. Nothing is impossible, she says.
Her appeal to them: “Stay away from social media and distractions.”
Says her proud father: “Our life was full of struggle, but now we can say that our daughter has achieved this feat with her hard work and perseverance. We are so proud of her!”
Ayesha belongs to the marginalised Pasmanda community. She has thus become a source of inspiration for many in her community who otherwise believed that lack of financial and other resources was an impediment to the academic growth of their children. Now they know, that what she has achieved, is not impossible.
Surely, you only need sheer will, and confidence in your talent. And, of course, relentless, focused, hard work.
