The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Bangkok celebrated “Teachers’ Day of India” on September 5, 2025. The event featured an insightful academic talk on the “Significance of a Teacher in Life” delivered by Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University.
Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sombat Mangmeesukhsiri, Assistant Professor of Sanskrit and Managing Director of the Sanskrit Studies Centre, Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, presented a talk on “Gurushisyaparampara – Teacher and Students in Thai Tradition.”
A musical jugalbandi of Tabla and Sarod was also presented by Indian Sarod player Mr. Arnab Bhattacharya and Tabla player Mr. Nilimesh Chakraborty. Both musicians delivered remarkable performances based on traditional Indian ragas, captivating the audience.
The event was attended by students from Siam University and Thammasat University, along with around 75 participants, including distinguished guests and members of the Indian diaspora in Thailand. The celebrations took place at the premises of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Bangkok.
