New Delhi, November 20, 2025 — France and India marked a significant milestone in their expanding defence cooperation today as Lieutenant General (Armaments) Gaël Diaz de Tuesta, National Armaments Director at the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA), and Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), signed a key technical arrangement at DRDO Headquarters in the capital.

The agreement builds on the Roadmap for India–France Defence Industrial Partnership established in January 2024 during the French President’s official visit to India. It is designed to provide a structured framework for future implementing arrangements that will support joint defence projects between the two nations.
Under the new arrangement, France and India will establish joint governance mechanisms to steer collaborative efforts in high-priority domains, including aeronautics, space technologies, submarine systems, autonomous platforms, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence.

The signing follows months of negotiations and is seen as a major advancement in bilateral defence ties, enabling both nations to accelerate the development and launch of innovative, co-developed programmes. Officials from both sides hailed the agreement as a pivotal step in strengthening the long-term strategic partnership between Paris and New Delhi.
