According to a report published by the Palestine Information Center, the Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) demolished a residential building in the Silwan area, south of Jerusalem, on Monday morning. The building was located in the Wadi Qaddoum neighborhood of Ras al-Amud, which lies south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to local sources, the demolished building had a total of 13 apartments and was home to around 100 people. The IOA claimed that the construction had been carried out without a permit, which it cited as the basis for the demolition.

According to the report, the Wadi Qaddoum area was completely sealed off from early morning before the operation. A large number of Israeli soldiers entered the area along with several bulldozers and surrounded the entire building. The atmosphere in the area remained highly tense during the demolition.

The report further said that during the demolition, Israeli forces also assaulted men and women present in the neighborhood. During this time, Yasser Abu Sunaina and a minor, Amr Abu Hatab, were arrested from near the building.

The report also stated that the Jerusalem occupation municipality avoids granting building permits to Palestinians and frequently demolishes their homes. This has been described as a violation of international and humanitarian laws, which guarantee people the right to housing.
