According to a report published by the Palestine Information Center, violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip continued for the 81st consecutive day. During this period, attacks were carried out in different areas, and many homes were damaged.
According to the report, the Israeli army carried out artillery shelling on the eastern areas of Gaza City. Meanwhile, an airstrike was conducted on the eastern region of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. In addition, Israeli fighter jets carried out another attack near the eastern cemetery of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Amid these attacks, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains extremely dire. Basic services continue to deteriorate. Restrictions on the entry of fuel, water, and reconstruction materials have further increased the hardships faced by ordinary people.
Meanwhile, a new weather system that arrived on Saturday and Sunday brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to Gaza. As a result, water flooded the tents of displaced families, and many tents were completely destroyed.
At the political level as well, the situation is becoming increasingly complex. Efforts regarding the next phase of the ceasefire are facing obstacles. The report states that differences have emerged between the U.S. administration and the Israeli government over priorities concerning Gaza, including issues of reconstruction and disarmament. These differences are likely to be discussed during an upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Washington.
