Jamia Millia Islamia Launches Schools Admission Prospectus 2026-27; Online Applications Open, No Fee Hike

New Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released the admission prospectus for its schools for the academic session 2026-27. The launch was marked by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice Chancellor, JMI, and Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI, in the presence of Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, Officiating Controller of Examinations, and members of the Prospectus Draft Committee.

Online applications for classes Nursery, Preparatory, I, VI, IX, and XI are now open on the JMI admission portal https://admission.jmi.ac.in. Indian applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 500, while foreign nationals and NRI ward candidates must pay Rs. 1,500. The schools accepting applications include Mushir Fatma Nursery School, Jamia Middle School, Jamia Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Husain Senior Secondary School (self-financed), and Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (self-financed).

The prospectus provides a detailed admission schedule for each school, including last dates for application submission, seat availability, draw of lots and written test dates, display of selected candidates, and commencement of classes. Applicants are advised to review the prospectus carefully before applying.

A key highlight for the 2026-27 session is that there is no fee increase for Indian students across all classes and schools. “Our schools remain inclusive and equitable, catering to all sections of society, especially the girl child and children with special needs,” said Prof. Asif. He added that infrastructure upgrades are underway, with dedicated special tutors and JRF scholars being appointed to support inclusive learning. The curriculum is being updated to integrate value-based and skill-based learning in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Prof. Rizvi emphasized the rich legacy of Jamia schools, noting that they aim to provide holistic education that combines academics, co-curricular activities, sports, and cultural awareness. “Jamia schools nurture well-rounded pupils who will serve society and the nation,” he said.

This year, a multi-city entrance test facility has been introduced for classes VI, IX, and XI (Science, Arts, and Commerce streams) in Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, and Srinagar, making admissions more accessible and enhancing regional diversity.

Offline application forms for the Balak Mata Centres will be available from March 5, 2026, with a submission deadline of April 20, 2026, along with a fee of Rs. 50. Forms can be collected at Matia Mahal, Qassabpura, and Beriwala Bagh and submitted at the respective centres.

Prof. Haque assured that the admission and examination processes will be conducted fairly and on schedule, adhering to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
