Al-Aqsa Mosque targeted once again; dozens of settlers commit desecration, restrictions imposed on Muslim worshippers

The situation once again turned extremely tense on Wednesday at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site, located in occupied Jerusalem. According to media reports, dozens of Jewish extremist settlers stormed the mosque compound in the morning and later in the afternoon and committed acts of desecration, while strict restrictions were imposed on the entry of Muslim worshippers at the same time.

According to local sources, these groups of settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Mughrabi Gate. Throughout the incident, they were under the protection of the Israeli occupation police. While moving around the mosque’s courtyards, the settlers were given lectures by rabbis about the so-called “Temple Mount.”

The report further stated that several settlers performed Talmudic prayers and carried out other provocative activities in the eastern part of the mosque compound and near the stairs leading to the Qubbat al-Sakhra (Dome of the Rock), thereby violating the sanctity of the holy site.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed strict surveillance and restrictions at the entrances and gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. A large number of Muslim worshippers were prevented from entering the mosque, further intensifying anger and unrest.

This incident comes at a time when Al-Aqsa Mosque is already going through extremely sensitive conditions. There are fears that such repeated actions could further deepen tension and instability in the region.
