His Excellency Kamel Galal, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to India, undertook a two-city visit to Chennai on 28 April and Bengaluru on 29 April 2026, in close coordination with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Ambassador held high-level roundtable meetings with Indian companies and industry leaders in both cities. The interactive sessions focused on exploring opportunities for enhanced economic cooperation and investment opportunities between Egypt and India, with special emphasis on sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
Addressing Indian business delegations, Ambassador Galal highlighted the attractive investment incentives offered by Egypt, including competitive tax benefits, streamlined regulatory frameworks, and the development of modern industrial zones. He particularly underscored Egypt’s strategic geographic location as a natural gateway connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa, supported by world-class infrastructure and the Suez Canal.

The visits provided a valuable platform for direct engagement between Egyptian diplomacy and Indian industry, paving the way for stronger bilateral trade and investment flows.
CII representatives expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s proactive engagement and reiterated their commitment to facilitating follow-up business interactions between Indian companies and Egyptian counterparts.

While in Chennai, Ambassador Galal seized the opportunity to personally visit Mr. Vijay Sankar, Chairman of TCI Sanmar, where he held a detailed meeting to review the company’s existing investments in Egypt and discuss avenues for deeper cooperation.
The discussions highlighted the strong performance of TCI Sanmar’s operations in Egypt and explored new opportunities for growth in the Egyptian market
