Israeli Forces Arrest Son of Jerusalem Governor, Allegedly Assault Him Before Detention

Tensions in occupied Jerusalem have once again come into focus following the arrest of the son of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith. Israeli forces arrested Qusai Ghaith on Monday evening during a raid in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli forces stormed the town and severely assaulted Qusai Ghaith before taking him to a detention and interrogation centre in occupied Jerusalem.

The incident comes amid what has been described as continued harassment of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith and his family by Israeli authorities. His family members have reportedly faced repeated arrests.

Adnan Ghaith has also been subjected to several restrictions. These include bans on attending meetings, meeting with Palestinian officials, travelling, and leaving occupied Jerusalem.

The arrest of Qusai Ghaith has once again brought attention to the ongoing restrictions and actions faced by the Jerusalem Governor and his family.
