A Russian delegation led by Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Bank of Russia, participated in the First BRICS Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The meeting focused on key trends in the global and regional economy and ways to further strengthen financial cooperation among BRICS countries.
Participants also discussed the need to improve the international monetary and financial system. A key area of discussion was expanding the use of national currencies in mutual settlements, aimed at strengthening financial cooperation and reducing dependence on traditional international payment mechanisms.
The meeting in Jaipur highlighted the growing focus within BRICS on building stronger and more diversified financial partnerships among member countries.
