ALIGARH, September 28: The Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, organized a health camp for employees of the Registrar’s Office at the Conference Room Complex, Administrative Block.
The camp was inaugurated by AMU Registrar, Prof. Aasim Zafar, in the presence of Prof. Mohammad Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Salma Ahmed, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration; Prof. Khwaja Saifullah Zafar, Chairperson, Department of Medicine; faculty members of both departments; and MBA-Hospital Administration students.
Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AMU, who visited the camp, appreciated the initiative and the medical consultants for providing free consultations. He stressed that health-awareness activities should become a regular feature.
Prof. Aasim Zafar emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups, noting that professional and personal responsibilities often lead people to neglect their health. He said timely health screening can help identify health problems at an early stage and facilitate appropriate treatment. He congratulated the consultants, residents, technicians, volunteers, faculty members and students of the two departments associated with the camp for promoting health awareness and preventive healthcare.
Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari, Dean, Students’ Welfare, also visited the camp and appreciated the efforts of the two departments, employees, staff members, and student volunteers in making the program successful. Prof. Mohammad Khalid commended the chairpersons and the medical team for setting up the facility and conducting the camp.
The camp offered free health check-ups, ECG, FibroScan, haemoglobin, cholesterol and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) tests. Free medical consultations were provided to more than 120 registrations by Dr. M. Uwais Ashraf, Gastroenterology and Hepatology; Dr. Saif Quaiser, Nephrology; and Dr. Akash Priyadarshi, Internal Medicine. Based on the reports, Dr. Uwais Ashraf observed that there were alarming trends across age groups.Participants expressed satisfaction with the medical tests and consultations provided.
Prof. Salma Ahmed welcomed the consultants, residents, technicians, faculty members and students and thanked the AMU administration, Prof. Mohammad Khalid, and Prof. Anjum Parvez, Principal and CMS, J.N. Medical College and Hospital, for their support. She also stressed the importance of regular health check-ups and noted that this was the third health camp organised by the Department of Business Administration.
Prof. Khwaja Saifullah Zafar interacted with the MBA-Hospital Administration students and highlighted the role of J.N. Medical College and Hospital in medical education, clinical training and healthcare services.The camp was coordinated by Dr. Zareen Husain Farooq and Dr.Lamay Bin Sabir, faculty members, Department of Business Administration.
