Israeli raids intensify in the West Bank, arrests and clashes reported in several areas

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces carried out large-scale raid operations across several cities and towns early Friday. During the raids, homes were stormed and searched, property was damaged, and at least three Palestinian civilians were arrested.

In the town of Ya‘bad in Jenin district, the blind cleric Sheikh Izzuddin Amarna was re-arrested. Soldiers raided his home and ransacked its contents. Meanwhile, Mohammed al-Salwadi was detained from the village of Tal, southwest of Nablus, while Uday Salahat was arrested from the Jabal Abu Zahir area of Jenin city.

In Nablus, the army entered through the Awarta checkpoint and deployed around Balata al-Balad and the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb. Several homes were raided in the Balata refugee camp, and tensions rose after forces entered a mosque.

In the Ras al-Arud area northeast of al-Khalil (Hebron), clashes broke out with local youths during a raid, though no injuries or arrests were reported. The scope of the operation extended to Dura, Aqaba, the city of Tubas, the al-Far‘a refugee camp, and Beita.

On Thursday evening, a 17-year-old boy was injured by gunfire in Bir Nabala. According to the Red Crescent, he was shot in the hand, chest, and leg. During the same time, two people were injured during raids in al-Jib and Bir Nabala, one of whom was later arrested. In Silwan, a young man was assaulted and a road was blocked.

Additionally, a heavy traffic jam was reported at the checkpoint set up in the village of al-Manshiya, southeast of Bethlehem.
