India–Sweden Partnership Deepens as Ebba Busch Engages PM Modi, President Macron at AI Summit

New Delhi — Marking the second day of her official visit to India, Ebba Busch, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, advanced the India–Sweden partnership in innovation and technology through a series of high-level engagements at the AI Summit.

Busch held discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, joining them at their respective country pavilions during the summit. The meetings underscored growing international cooperation on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

She also met with Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, where both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening collaboration in green technology and research and development. The leaders emphasized advancing engagement under the India–EU Free Trade Agreement framework, highlighting the complementary strengths of India’s skilled youth and Sweden’s innovation ecosystem in driving sustainable growth.

Addressing the Leaders’ and Ministerial Plenary Session, Busch called for a broader vision of artificial intelligence within the bilateral partnership. “To define our path, let us redefine, a little bit, what AI stands for in the India–Sweden partnership. For us, AI also stands for Aspiring India,” she said.

Later in the evening, Busch delivered a keynote address at the “Shaping an AI-Driven Tomorrow” India–Sweden Leadership Dialogue hosted at the Embassy of Sweden. The event brought together delegates from government, industry and academia to deepen dialogue on innovation, technology and shared leadership for a sustainable digital future.
