ALIGARH : The Department of Anaesthesiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a lecture as part of its ongoing academic initiatives under the leadership of Chairman Prof. Hammad Usmani.
The session was delivered by Dr. Tazeen Beg, Associate Professor at Stony Brook University Medical Centre, New York, who has recently been appointed as Adjunct Faculty in the department. She spoke on “Physiologically Difficult Airway and Onco-Anaesthesia,” highlighting recent advancements and evidence-based practices in anaesthesia.

Dr. Beg discussed case-based challenges, focusing on the anticipation and management of intraoperative complications and strategies to improve postoperative outcomes. She emphasised the importance of personalised anaesthetic planning, adoption of new technologies and adherence to updated clinical guidelines in both operating and non-operating settings.
The session witnessed active participation from postgraduate students, who engaged in discussions and raised clinical queries. Senior faculty members, including Prof. Qazi Ehsan Ali, Prof. Hussain Amir, Prof. Abu Nadeem and Prof. Obaid Ahmed Siddiqui, also shared their experiences, contributing to a rich academic exchange.
